Shimano Ocea Offshore Rods
Shimano Australia has added three new rods to the existing four options already included in its Ocea Offshore series, launched last year.
The new PE5 jigging rod is balanced with 40 to 65lb braid and 200 to 400 gram jigs.
The PE8 jig rod matches with 65 to 100lb braid and 350 to 500 gram jigs. The two-piece 50 to 80 pitch-bait rod suits either 50 to 80lb braid or 24 to 37kg nylon for line-class fishing, such as in tournaments or for records.
The new rods are an expansion to the Ocea Offshore range, which already includes the saltwater spin, overhead, stickbait and GT stickbait rods. As with the existing series, the new rods make use of Shimano’s proprietary TCurve TC4 graphite in the blanks, and marine-grade aluminium Alps reel seats. The new designs also offer Fuji K-series ‘Tangle Free’ guides with Alconite inserts, and well-shaped and extremely comfortable EVA grips that are perfect for long fights. The two jig rods feature full-length EVA butts, while the pitch-bait rod boasts a graphite Slick Butt.
