Mercury Marine VesselView9 With An Active Trim System

Mercury Active Trim on VesselView Review

With the purchase of an Active Trim computer module, Mercury Marine’s convenient Active Trim system – which automatically trims one or more engines – can now be controlled through a VesselView information screen.

Issue 139 Mercury Marine VesselView 9 with an Active Trim System

The Active Trim system helps to improve engine performance and cut fuel costs, while making your overall driving experience more enjoyable.

Active Trim was originally controlled through a separate dash-mounted keypad, but you’ll now find its operation simpler by going to Engine Functions on your VesselView screen.

It’s simple, straight forward and it means one less item to clutter up your dash. However, the original keypad is still available for boat owners who want it.

Mercury’s Active Trim technology incorporates its patented integrated GPS-based control system, which takes into account both boat speed and rpm when deciding on the ideal trim position.

The Active Trim system also solves the issue of the engine trimming up too early or too late while the boat is getting up on a plane.

Active Trim has five selectable trim profiles that accommodate nearly any boat application.

It can be used on high-performance boats as well as family runabouts, with drivers able to easily disengage and re-engage the system as needed.

You can also personalise Active Trim to your driving style and/or compensate for changes in boat load and weather conditions.
